After be-mourning the death of one of the oldest silverback gorilla in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda has reported a birth of a baby gorilla! In Mgahinga National park a gorilla was born on 1st December 2016, in the presence of Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) rangers and an American Tourist. Dina Tamimi, an American Citizen who currently lives in united Arab Emirates set off for normal gorilla tracking from Kampala. Early in the morning on 1st December 2016, Dina set off for gorilla tracking in the only habituated gorilla family in Mgahinga. Little did she know that she was going to witness a birth of a gorilla. She recorded the birth on camera and she is proud to share the video with the world.
Nyakagezi is the only habituated gorilla family within Mgahinga and the group is led by silverback Mark. The mother of the baby has been identified Cyizaine. The birth of this gorilla has increased the number of gorillas in this group to 11members.
