Lake Bunyonyi –located between Kisoro and Kabale, Southwestern Uganda, Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest of all the lakes in Uganda and is known for its spectacular 29 islands. This is one of the few lakes in the world that is safe for swimming because it has no hippos, crocodiles and even any risk of bilharzia. The lake holds up to 200 bird species including the grey-crowned cranes and the best way to explore it is by embarking on a traditional canoe ride.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park –This is a special destination where visitors enjoy up close and personal with a family of endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Bwindi was created in 1991 to provide refuge to mountain gorillas and its boundaries stretch up to 331sq.km, featuring a dense tropical forest. At Bwindi, there are over 120 mammals, 350 bird species, several reptiles, and floral species.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park –located in Kisoro, Mgahinga is the right place to find both mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. This is also Uganda’s smallest park, occupying the land area of 33.7sq.km and also supports variety of other fauna. These include the giant forest hogs, bushbucks, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, 180 bird species especially the Kivu ground thrush plus many Albertine rift endemic species.
